Astana — May 17, 2024. The Research Institute of the New Land-Sea Transport Corridor (NLSTC RI), established by the "Beles" Center for Analysis and Strategy and partners, organized the largest B2B session of transport and logistics companies of Kazakhstan and China.

The event, held with the support of the Union of Transport Workers of Kazakhstan "KazLogistics" and the International Alliance of Freight Carriers of China, united more than 90 companies. This event became the practical implementation of the agreements reached by our experts during the spring visit to Lianyungang.

The platform created by the "Beles" Center and AIU gathered key players of the industry.

From the Kazakhstani side: Top managers of giants such as PTC Cargo, DARRail, Eurotransit Cargo, JSC "Kedentransservice", as well as representatives of the NCE "Atameken" and logistics operators (SMARTLOG, Lokki Trans) took part in the negotiations.

From the Chinese side: The delegation was led by Shen Xin, Vice President of Jiangsu Ocean University (JOU) and Director of the RI from the Chinese side. The business block was represented by the leadership of the SCO International Logistics Park (Lianyungang) and large operators (Jiangsu Yungang Development Group, Zhengzhou Land Port) looking for partners for transit through Kazakhstan.

Unlike standard conferences, the B2B format allowed moving straight to deals. According to the working protocols of the meeting, specific needs of Chinese partners were discussed:

  • "Last Mile": Search for Kazakhstani contractors for "door-to-door" cargo delivery within Central Asia.
  • Container Fleet: Renting and purchasing containers from Kazakhstani owners for return loading to China.
  • Routes: Optimization of transit via "China-Europe" and "China-CA" trains departing from the ports of Lianyungang.

By organizing this meeting, the "Beles" Center confirmed its role as an effective mediator. We do not just study transport corridors — we fill them with real content by bringing customers and performers together at one table.

Based on the results of the meeting, a decision was made to make such B2B sessions regular, and a return business mission of Kazakhstani companies to China is planned for the autumn of 2024.
